New Rv owners Help

When you purchase your first Rv its a big step so naturally new RV owners are always looking for some guidance from the seasoned veterans, I have talked to several people I know you have been camping with a Rv for over twenty years and they have revealed some cool ideas.

Size Matters

The most heard advice has been always know the exact height of the unit you are towing, do take for granted the height the manufacture lists because accessories or modifications may have been made since the coach left the factory.

Did you get that?

The primary driver should be sure they are on the same page as the co pilot to ensure ever thing goes smoothly, developing a good hand signal system and clear responses. This is even more important for people who plan on traveling in a group or convoy.

Practice makes perfect

The most difficult part of being a new RV owner is maneuvering in tight places and backing up, practicing in an empty parking lot goes a long way towards gaining confidence driving your new coach or tag a long. I would suggest working on the communication piece while learning to back up so you will be compllty ready on your maiden camping trip.

Taking turns at spotting and backing the coach up is something that can help each person gain a respect and understanding for what the other person is trying to do.
Check that

Well this is a personal favorite of mine use a checklist to ensure you do not forget something important. The safety of your family is in your hands so leave nothing to chance make sure you do a safety inspection with a checklist each and every trip.

it’s a dirty job

The job of emptying the waste tanks is never any fun no matter the size or type Rv, the only real advice here is invest in good quality rubber gloves to help make the job more tolerable. When you buy your RV at a dealer most will offer to show you how to set up and maintain the main systems, I strongly suggest taking the time and hearing what they have to say.

Stay alert stay Safe

I am sure you have heard one version or another of this saying so please do not be the person who drives two straight days and ends up crashing his coach, plan to have some rest when you schedule your trip even with two drivers you have to stop and walk around once in a while. Preparing a driving schedule ahead of time can help plan when you will want or more importantly need to stop on your next road trip.

Many new RV owners choose Pop Ups are their first type because of the size and cost, One of the toughest decision is are going to face is what type of Coach Should you buy? Remember its your family that is going to be living in it days and weeks on end so plan carefully and enjoy!

Keep it clean with some tips on RV cleaning, address black streaks and fading sooner than later. The upkeep of your RV is neatly in your hands, arm yourself with the right products.I would now like to invite you to our section on RV camping so you can start to get a Idea of what to expect when going camping with a RV.
