A coleman camping stove really helps things cook
I have been camping for a long time and on every trip there was a Coleman camping stove. The value of having the right stove is priceless, Lets face it hot meals are much more enjoyable than cold meals. The must have option I would recommend is electronic ignition, not having to find your lighter or match's to start the grill up is sure handy
Shopping for the right camping stove
The most obvious feature of course is how many burner(s) the stove has, You will find this varies from one to three burners. I have been using a twin burner stove with electronic ignition for about four years and it works excellent.
The single burner units are great for back packing or if you are trying to keep thing light, the two and three burners are more suited for family cooking and larger meals. Most of the stoves produced now have electronic ignition which is very handy. Instead of fumbling for matches you simply turn a knob and the stove is lit.
What fuels your appetite?
Depending on where you camp the next decision is what fuel type do you need your stove to have, my model uses standard propane found in most department stores. Coleman offers the option of using white gas or Coleman fuel as a fuel source as well.
Coleman has even introduced their own fuel in a special bottom to use on certain Coleman stoves and Coleman Lanterns, the disadvantage to this option is the overall availability of the fuel.
The overall size of the grill should not be a concern Coleman does an excellent job making all their model(S) fold down. My wife keeps ours in the large tote of our kitchen equipment. When we camp we also back up our camp stove with a simple propane grill to help heat water, cook vegetables or simply speed up the whole process. One extra function your stove can help with is heating water to clean your dishes with, we heat one pot of water mix it with cold water and use two basins to wash and rinse with.
Your coleman camping stove should be on your kitchen checklist
so remember to add extra fuel, aluminum foil and pot holders to this list.
Some helpful advice
I thought I would mention several house keeping items here
Always clean your stove after every meal
Avoid cooking with sauces or oils unless you use tin foil
Make sure your table is level and secure
A hot idea is to use the stove to heat water to do your dishes with.
In closing I would like to suggest that you try your new Coleman camping stove out at home before heading into woods, having a failure while camping can leave some people hungry and mad. One final tip is try coating the grates of your grill with Pam for "grilling" this product works great and make clean up much easier.
