Camping Cots make sleeping a breeze

camping cots are a often overlooked piece of camping gear but When you think of sleeping in the great out doors you may first think of sleeping on the ground however they change all that.

What you need to know

Depending on your style and preference you may want to check out this handy piece of camping gear there are many different styles you will find though they all share some basic design elements.

There design is simple and effective a metal folding frame with heavy duty fabric form the camping cot, I have even seen storage underneath as well as various cloth materials used.

Less is more

The nice part is you can just bring the cot and a blanket if your expecting a cooler night, most model fold down fairly small so storage and moving this gear shouldn't prove to be a problem.

I would try to find a style that folds flat simply for the reason of storage in the truck so you do not waste a-lot of space for one item.

Where do I use a Cot?

This type of gear will find its most use in cabin tents or larger dome style tents because of the length and height so if your using a small three person dome this may not be a option for you.

There is a another off season use for the camping cot and that is unexpected company hey they didn't call so let them deal! seriously though why not its just one night it won't hurt them to rough it a little.

so please remember that when you looking for a place to sleep camping cots and other camping equipment are items you have to buy correctly or do with out because of poor planning so please visit the various equipment pages to get a firm understanding of what you will need and want for your next camping trip.

Tip

I would also like to mention when your loading your car, minivan or truck always try to load the bulky items first then layer the small items in and around the gaps left by you tent, screen house ect. this way you will maximize your space.

remember to leave the items you will want to get at on top food, coolers games ect.
