Essential Infant Camping Checklist

Camping with a infant? Be prepared with a infant camping checklist trust me being in the wood's without a essential item is no fun.

The challenges of camping with the real young ones is being prepared for as many situation(s) with out over doing it.

We took our daughter camping when she was just one month old! She absolutley loves the outdoors and now is a avid camper, some people thought we were crazy for taking her with us.

We are here to help you avoid such problems as forgotten toys, health items or clothing. When you are preparing for trip with a infant in the house usually you are rushed to some extent.


No matter the age of your children every age group brings its own difficulty to any camping trip, knowing how to deal with these situations is the key to having a great time.

Allow me to pass along some real useful advice about parenting,

You will find that after a few times out that things become a little easier when you have actuallly experianced the great outdoors with an infant on board.


The essential(s) list below is made up of items my wife and I found very useful when our kids were young.

Essential must have list

  • Folding Pack n Play
  • The Stroller
  • Binkie/Pacifier
  • Favorite blanket or stuffie
  • Infant sunscreen
  • Infant Bug repellant
  • Hat or visor
  • Diapers
  • Rash cream
  • Baby friendly First aid kit
  • Changing pad with extra wipes

Good items to consider

These items may not be life or death how ever you will find some of them can bring some happiness to the whole campsite!

  • Story book(s)
  • extra bottles
  • Throw / blanket for the ground(to play on)
  • Glow Sticks (for night time walks with the stroller)
  • Extra Clothes
  • Small Plastic bags (to dispose of diapers
