Around the campfireWelcome back, we have been working for the last two months so lets take a well deserved break! Time for some fun and lazy day ideas. We will look at different ideas for day trips and attractions, the car ride and cool ideas for kids of all ages.
The big question that you need to ask yourself is "Does the family want to visit anywhere specific? Most areas you will stay in will have amusement parks or other cool attractions to visit.
Section I: Planning day tripsThe major question with day trips are simply:
Now that you have answered the questions and want to visit some place its time to answer the where question, the age of your kids can affect the places you want to visit. You wouldn't take a one year old to a thrill ride based amusement park for instance or take your teenager(s) to Santa's Village. Remember the decisions you make now will either help make vacation stories told for years or make your kids dread vacations.I recommend that you stick to the idea of keeping things simple. less details = more fun! Section II: Fun for the ride
You may find yourself in the car for hours on end with kids that get bored before they leave their own driveway, you have many useful tools to fight boredom I recommend you use at least three to help keep thing fresh.
Fun ways to fight boredom when driving
You really can't go wrong as long as you bring things your kids are interested in and will actually use for the entire trip.
Section III: Fun for all AgesNO matter how you decide to spend your time spending time as a family is the goal, be inventive and just relax.
You can see that just letting your kids be themselves goes a long way towards a fun vacation, every day we throw structure at our kids, family vacation should be the time you shed the schedule and act on the spur of the moment. The kids want to have some fun and you are out of ideas and it hot, real hot!! Relax a quick trip to the store and your good to go. Ways to beat the heat and boredom
