Activites to keep kids happy

camping expressionKids love activities, I recommend leaving your day planner behind and just having some spur of the moment fun, hanging out and doing what ever can be a fun time for every one.

When we camp my family follows  the day where ever it goes. Sometimes this means reading, bike riding or even a trip to a local beach.

The point is we do not follow a schedule when we vacation, lets face it you follow the boss's hours all year so take a break and relax. You will learn fast the key to success is simple, have some fun!

Time to pack the car

tunes in the carAre we there yet? are we there yet?are we there yet? ok you have the point avoiding this can be real easy if you plan ahead a little.

Investing in some travel games can help a keep things from getting out of hand while traviling.

Depending on the age books, handheld learning systems, coloring books, drawing paper, crayons, for very long rides a DVD player is a good idea, card games are another great way to help keep them entertained.

Fun and games while traveling

You can also make up driving games such as the license plate game, and oldie that can be played again is the punch buggy game or Griswold.

Kids that like a challenge might like Sudoku so Try a cool Sudoku game now!! to help keep them entertained for hours.

Games for the campsite

Know lets talk about what to pack for when you get there to help keep them entertained. A great item that is also for exercise is a bike, volleyball net, badminton set, Frisbee.

Fun is your goal so make sure whatever it is you bring you know for certain they will enjoy doing it now thats not to say you can't spring a few surprises on them like a game they have never played or a new way to play a old favorite.

One of our favorites is bike riding, we spend endless hours just riding around the camp ground looking for adventure.

A cool idea to keep your bikes safe and dry is to use a tarp like in this photo to create a bike garage of sorts.

A great Activity for the younger kids is to have them go gather branches and sticks for firewood as long as you always keep and eye on them.

Taking long walks is another good way to go looking for branches and sticks for your fire, not to mention roasting some Marshmallows after dinner!

We love reading by the campfire at night relaxing and enjoying a cold drink with our smores, can;t you smeel the melting chocolate and marshmellow?
