Family Camping opens up a whole new opportunity for you as a parent to enjoy some real quality time with your kids, their are numerous activities that you can participate in or just hang out and relax. Personally I love the change of pace from the hectic day to day life I lead.
It's a new year! So try a new type of family vacation.
Life throws lots of distraction(s) at us every day, so you should find the time to make special Family memories . I myself work over sixty hours a week in retail and have some days I do not even see my kids. Our family vacation is my time to catch up. This is why I love camping so much it allows us to spend time as a family away from our hectic day to day activities.
It's time to take back your life and start a new family tradition with camping,even if you just go on several weekend camping trip's your family will still make memories that will last a lifetime. Your the boss The cool part is you control all the details so if tent camping is not for you,No problem! You can rent a cabin or stay in an RV and still enjoy nature. I have had some instances that made me want to pack up and go home ,how ever I stayed with it and ended up having a great time.
I would suggest even if you tried camping as a kid and didn't like
it, you give it another try as an adult you may find it a lot different from an adults point of view. No where else can you find a place so peaceful that you can just relax in a chair and enjoy all the beauty nature has to offer.
Need to save MONEYCamping by far is one of the cheapest vacations you can plan because
easily the best advantage here is value for your families shrinking budget , most state campgrounds will rent a site for between $15 and $30 dollars a night for a site, this leaves some budget for day trips or actually going out to eat at a nice restaurant.
No matter where you live the price of everything is going up, so staying local and camping in a state campground could be a way to save money.
Teach your kids some lasting values and let them really get o know nature, Most kids spend way to much time indoors help them rediscover the outdoors .

Most of us don't realize how much we are missing by working the day to day life style instead of seeing all this wonderful country has to offer.

Believe me you will get far more out of family camping than you put in simply because if nothing else you get to spend time together as a family and that seems to be getting harder to accomplish all the time.

It's a fact that no two people camp the same , so do not be afraid to develop your own family style(this is one area where being different can be real fun) I have been talking to several avid campers lately and they all seen to have their own twist on camping,which I find great with so much diversity it tough to be wrong!
Now the choice is entirely yours of what to do all I can recommend is that you educate yourself and go start making some memories. P.S. Remember most campgrounds don't get cell phone reception which means your kids might actually have to talk to you!(just a thought) From A security stand point I recommend you leave any pricey electronics home, Do you really want to worry about a laptop,Nintendo DS ect for the whole trip? You may want to consider buying a small fire proof safe or locking container if plan on bringing items like your Apple I pod,Nintendo Ds or your PSP along.

Do you want to save money?Your answer should be YES so I recommend giving a local state park a try. You will find that most state parks are a bargain, be prepared to trade off some amenities for the savings though.

When it comes to being open minded I have to admit I can be stubborn at times and the whole camping idea was no exception, After a couple of trips though I was convinced this was something that is completely worthwhile and fun to boot!
